Travelling to Copenhagen:

By Train:

For schools in Europe traveling by train is the most sustainable way to travel to Denmark, and probably the most comfortable. DSB runs most of Denmark's networks and has full integration with other rail companies to allow for seamless travel.

By Aeroplane:

Copenhagen is serviced by one major airport, Copenhagen Airport. Copenhagen Airport has connecting flights to most major European cities, alongside short flights to Frankfurt, Heathrow (London) and Amsterdam Schiphol airports for schools travelling from further distances.

Maps of Copenhagen's Public Transport:

Worth Noting:

Copenhagen has a highly integrated public transport system, including a metro, overground (S-tog) and bus services. This system can be easily navigated through the website: (available in English, German and Danish, for inter and intra country travel). Additionally, Copenhagen is a pro-bicycle city with lots of rental bike companies including Donkey Bikes, and we would like to encourage you to join in.

From the Airport to the City:
Copenhagen Airport is located at the end of the M2 Metro line, which will take you into the City. It is recommended to change at either ‘Nørreport’ or ‘Kongens Nytorv’ for either S-tog connections (Nørreport) or Metro and bus connections (Kongens Nytorv).

To plan your route and find the train/bus numbers please visit “rejseplanen” (available in English, German and Spanish). For information on ticket options and how to buy them please visit this website.

Traveling to CIS:

Regional Train:
Students travelling to CIS from within Denmark can use the regional train system. It is recommended to alight at Østerport, and use the Metro to reach CIS; nevertheless, Students can alight at Hellerup and take the 164 bus to Stubbeløbgade.

S-tog (Train):
he nearest train station is at Nordhavn station on the A, B, C, E and Bx Lines. From the station it is a 25 minute walk to CIS (walking map).

The Metro station of Orientkaj is located right outside the school on the M4 Metro line.

The nearest Bus stop to CIS is Stubbeløbgade (Sundkrogsgade) on the 27 and 164 routes towards Oceankaj. However, this takes a long time so please plan ahead.

Rental Bike:
There are many rental bike companies in Copenhagen, however it is recommended to be an experienced cyclist if you wish to cycle during rush hour.

Electric Scooter:
Copenhagen, like many European cities, has many electric scooter companies such as: Lime, Tier, Voi and Circ. To utilise these scooters an app usually needs to be downloaded. It is worth noting that certain companies only allow drop-offs in certain areas, check before you hire.If you hire these scooters it is important to remember that they should only be used on the bicycle paths and not the pavement (usually cobbled).
